MetMalaysia warns of thunderstorms in multiple states until 6pm on Jan 26


PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) is warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in several states until 9pm on Friday (Jan 24).

In a statement, MetMalaysia said the states affected are Kedah (Langkawi, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Yan, Pendang, Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu); Penang; Perak (Hulu Perak, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim); Kelantan (Pasir Mas, Jeli, Tanah Merah, Machang and Kuala Krai); Terengganu (Hulu Terengganu, Dungun and Kemaman); Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Jerantut and Kuantan); Selangor (Sabak Bernam and Kuala Selangor); Negri Sembilan (Port Dickson and Rembau); Melaka, Johor (Tangkak, Muar, Batu Pahat, Pontian and Johor Baru)

In Sarawak, the areas affected are Sibu (Selangau); Mukah (Matu, Dalat and Mukah); Bintulu; Miri and Limbang.

In Sabah, adverse weather is expected in the Interior (Sipitang, Tenom, Beaufort and Keningau); West Coast (Papar) and Sandakan (Telupid, Beluran and Sandakan).
