Dr Wee, Ling distribute aid on behalf of Johor govt

PETALING JAYA: MCA president Dr Wee Ka Siong and Ling Tian Soon have distributed care food baskets to those in need on behalf of the Johor state government in Yong Peng. Johor.

Dr Wee, who is Ayer Hitam MP and Yong Peng assemblyman Ling extended the initiative to benefit another 360 individuals, following last week’s distribution of 400 food baskets

"Seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces was truly heartwarming.

"The Johor state government remains committed to addressing the needs of every citizen, striving to spread warmth and care to more people," he said in a Facebook post on Sunday (Jan 26).

Earlier, Dr Wee and Ling celebrated the upcoming Year of the Snake with dialysis patients in the Yong Peng district.

The MCA president said he had made it an annual tradition to host a reunion luncheon with his constituents on the eve of Chinese New Year since he was elected as Ayer Hitam MP in 2004.

"With the support of the Lions Club of Yong Peng, Yong Peng assemblyman Ling Tian Soon and I visited Restoran Xin Cheng in Taman Kota, Yong Peng to host a luncheon for approximately 40 dialysis patients," he said in a Facebook post on Sunday.

Dr Wee said that in addition to extending festive blessings to the patients, they also presented their guests with special Chinese New Year goodies.

"Wishing everyone good health and a prosperous year ahead. May the Year of the Snake bring great fortune!" he said.
