Father and daughter killed in collision on Kuala Krai-Gua Musang highway


GUA MUSANG: A father and his daughter were killed when their car collided with a lorry on the Kuala Krai-Gua Musang highway on Saturday (Jan 25).

In the incident at about 4am, the 46-year-old man died at the scene after being trapped in the driver's seat.

His 15-year-old daughter is believed to have been thrown six metres into a ravine.

Senior Fire Officer I, Mohd Razani Mamat from the Kuala Krai Fire and Rescue Station, said the Perodua Alza MPV driven by the victim from Kota Bharu to Kuala Lumpur collided with a 10-tonne lorry coming from the opposite direction.

"We received an emergency call at 4.06am and the operation ended at 5.45am."

During the rescue operation, the man was trapped in the driver's seat and was unconscious," he said when contacted by Sinar Harian.
