Iskandar Puteri cops seeking driver who abandoned luxury car after accident


ISKANDAR PUTERI: The police are looking for the driver of a white luxury car who left his vehicle at the scene and fled after being involved in an accident here.

Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm M. Kumarasan said the incident occurred at about 3.15am on Friday (Jan 17) on Jalan Sungai Danga.

"The accident is believed to have happened when a car traveling from Jalan Bestari towards Jalan Persiaran Indah was hit while crossing the intersection when the traffic light was green.

"The luxury car driver failed to stop in time and collided with the right front side of the other car.

"After the collision, the driver fled the scene, abandoning his car," he said in a statement on Sunday (Jan 19).

ACP Kumarasan added that the 26-year-old driver of the other car broke his right arm in the incident.

"The victim was subsequently taken to Sultanah Aminah Hospital for treatment.

"We are also tracking the owner of the white luxury car," he said, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for careless driving.

He also urged anyone with information about the incident to contact the Iskandar Puteri police at 07-510 1322.
