ACTRESS Erra Fazira has refuted swirling rumours about her alleged involvement with a mysterious ‘Mr E.’, reported Harian Metro.

Erra, or Fazira Wan Chek, 51, was under the spotlight following a comment she made to ‘Mr E.’, wishing him a happy birthday on social media recently.

She clarified that her relationship with Mr E. – or cafe owner Ezwan Zain, 44 – was just as close friends and nothing special.

“I’ve known him for quite some time because I once went to his cafe during the filming of the talk show programme Primadona.

“Initially, we did not even have a long chat,” she said, adding that they met again three years ago at a radio station studio.

“From then on, we got to know each other more. And a few months back, Ezwan sent messages to me on Instagram.

“So, you can say that we became close only a few months back. I regard him as a close acquaintance,” she added.

The Polis Evo 2 actress, who rarely posts anything personal on social media, had her post on Ezwan attracting loads of attention.

“Wishing someone a happy birthday is normal. I even put love emojis to those close to me. Perhaps, he is seen as a potential partner and that is why people are talking about this,” added Erra.

Despite the denial, there is speculation that Erra and Ezwan have met their respective family members.

It is also learnt that Erra is expected to make an announcement on Feb 7, which coincides with her birthday.
