Floods: Over 2,400 victims evacuated to 30 relief centres in Johor


JOHOR BARU: The number of flood victims in Johor stands at 2,498 people from 732 families as of 8am on Tuesday (Jan 14).

They have been relocated to 30 temporary relief centres in four affected districts.

Johor Disaster Management Committee said Kota Tinggi had the highest number of flood victims followed by Pontian, Kluang, and Johor Baru.

“There are 1,172 flood victims in Kota Tinggi, 739 in Pontian, 534 in Kluang and 53 in Johor Baru.

“The number of victims has remained the same since 4am today,” it said in a statement.

The relief centre with the highest number of evacuees is at SJKT Jalan Haji Manan in Kluang with 202 people from Kampung Palembang.
