Death sentence commuted to 40-year prison for murder, rape convict


PUTRAJAYA: A former lorry driver who raped, sodomised and murdered an 85-year-old woman in 2019 has had his death sentence commuted to 40 years in prison by the Federal Court on Monday (Jan 13).

A three-judge panel consisting of Justices Datuk Harmindar Singh Dhaliwal, Datuk Nordin Hassan and Datuk Abu Bakar Jais, dismissed K. Sathiaraj's appeal to overturn his murder conviction.
