Cops interrogate six people over death of baby in child care centre

KUALA LANGAT: Police have recorded statements from six people as the probe into the death of a four-month-old baby at a child care centre here continues.

When contacted, Kuala Langat OCPD Supt Mohd Akmalrizal Radzi said that this included the carer.

“Investigations are still ongoing and as of now there have been elements of negligence from the carer because the victim was left without supervision for a long time,” he said.

He added that police were still awaiting laboratory test results following the post-mortem examination on the body.

On Jan 3, a baby boy was rushed to the clinic in Bandar Saujana Putra after he stopped breathing.

Doctors there tried to save the boy before calling for an ambulance to rush him to the Cyberjaya Hospital but he passed away the same afternoon.
