Police reports against Hannah Yeoh's book puzzling, says Azis Jamman

KOTA KINABALU: There is nothing in Hannah Yeoh's book that tries to convert anybody, says Datuk Azis Jamman (pic).

"From my understanding, after reading the book, there is nothing in it that talks about trying to convert anybody to Christianity," the former deputy home minister posted on Facebook.

"I’ve read 'Becoming Hannah: A Personal Journey' and found it to be an inspiring personal journey," he said.

"As a devoted Muslim and a personal friend of YB Hannah Yeoh, I can confidently say that she has never, at any point, tried to influence or convert me to Christianity," said Azis, the Parti Warisan information chief.

His post comes amid 182 police reports lodged against Yeoh, the Youth and Sports Minister, over her book.

"I’m aware that there have been police reports against her and the book for various reasons, and I am honestly puzzled by them," he said in giving his support to Yeoh.

"This post is simply to show my moral support for her as a friend. I pray for her to stay strong and face the challenges ahead," he added.

"As a proud Sabahan, I’m grateful that, despite our different races and religions, we Sabahans continue to live in peace, harmony, and mutual respect for one another’s beliefs and cultures," he said.
