Bersatu Youth’s Wan Meor says he’s still an exco member

PETALING JAYA: Bersatu Youth exco member Wan Meor Safwat Naqiuddin Shamsudin has clarified that he remains as an exco in the party although he has relinquished his post as head of professional bureau and volunteer of Bersatu Youth.

Commenting on reports by an online portal, Wan Meor Safwat said this was because the post as professional bureau head was an appointed post as announced on Nov 29, 2024, whereas the exco position was elected by the majority of the youth delegates.

"The decision was taken due to differences between Bersatu Youth head Muhammad Hilman Idham and I," claimed Wan Meor Safwat in a post on Facebook on Thursday (Jan 9).

"However I would still carry out my duties as an exco member without portfolio by focusing on the ability and optimising the potential, energy and talents of the Youth wing," he added.
