Three nabbed, 2kg of syabu seized in Teluk Intan

IPOH: Police have arrested three men and seized nearly 2kg worth of syabu at a carpark in Teluk Intan.

Hilir Perak OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Adnan Basri said the arrests were made at 2.20pm on Saturday (Jan 4) on suspicion that the suspects, aged between 26 and 38, were involved in drug distribution.

ACP Ahmad Adnan said the drugs were found wrapped and disguised as tea packages.

"The drugs were found in two green plastic packages labelled 'guanyunwang'.

"All three suspects also tested positive for methamphetamine.

"The first suspect has 12 offences on his criminal record, the second suspect has six, and the last suspect has four dating back to 2012," he said, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

"The suspects will be remanded until Jan 13 to facilitate investigations.

"The investigation papers will be referred to the DPP with the recommendation to press charges" he added.
