SMJ Energy approves additional RM10mil dividend

KOTA KINABALU: SMJ Energy Sdn Bhd (SMJE) has approved an additional RM10mil dividend, supplementing the previously declared interim dividend of RM50mil.

This raises the total dividend payout for the financial year ending 31 December 2024 to RM60mil.

The decision reflects SMJE’s robust financial health, with significant cash reserves even after accounting for upcoming project expenditures and other commitments.

“Since commencing operations less than three years ago, SMJE has distributed RM110mil in dividends to the state,” SMJE said in a statement on Monday (Dec 30).

SMJE continues to prioritise prudent financial management and aims to maximise returns for its shareholders.

At the same time, it remains focused on investing in high-quality growth opportunities across its business segments.
