Cops investigating arson and intimidation cases in Kinrara

PETALING JAYA: Two investigation papers have been opened following an arson case and a criminal intimidation incident in the Kinrara area, Selangor police say.

While the statement did not name anyone directly, the incidents are believed to be related to the arson case in Taman Kinrara involving Cikgu Chandra.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Shazeli Kahar said the police received two separate reports involving mischief and criminal intimidation in the Taman Kinrara residential area, Puchong, on Monday (March 9) and Tuesday (March 10).

"For the first incident, investigations are being conducted under Section 427 and Section 506 of the Penal Code.

"For the second incident, an investigation paper under Section 435 of the Penal Code has been opened in relation to an arson-related act of mischief involving a vehicle at the same location," he said in a statement.

Comm Shazeli said the police are carrying out detailed investigations from various angles to identify the motive and the individuals involved.

He requested the public to give the police space to complete the investigation process and urged all parties not to speculate.

"The Selangor police also strongly remind the public not to make any speculation or provocation that could affect racial harmony and public order.

"Strict action will be taken against any individual found violating the law," he said.

Earlier in the day, a video showing cars set on fire was shared on Threads by preacher Firdaus Wong and went viral on social media.

Cikgu Chandra, also known as S. Chandrasegaran, had earlier posted a video on social media claiming there was a break-in at his house in Puchong on Monday.
