MIHF 2024 hailed as a platform for modest fashion


MELAKA: The Melaka International Halal Festival (MIHF) 2024 is the ideal platform for designers to expand their modest fashion designs and celebrate cultural traditions, says the president of the Malaysian Designers Association.

Junaidah Ishak said the International Modest Fashion Show held in conjunction with MIHF features a diverse array of trendy pieces that showcase 48 outfits designed by six designers from Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia.

"MIHF 2024 is not only a platform for local designers to showcase their creations but also a gathering hub for designers embracing the concept of modest fashion," she said at the Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) in Ayer Keroh on Sunday (Dec 22).

Junaidah said that such festivals provide opportunities for local designers to continue creating and introducing their unique designs.

“Melaka serves as a platform for fashion designers to highlight their modest and elegant fashion designs through MIHF. Festivals or carnivals like this allow local designers to expand their creative works,” she added.

Junaidah said MIHF helps elevate Malaysia and its cultural heritage onto a global stage while promoting the halal industry in the fashion sector.

The fashion show was graced by the presence of the wife of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Melaka, Toh Puan Dr Asmah Ab Rahman.
