Along Cham's drug probe was lawful, say Selangor cops after wife's claims

PETALING JAYA: Selangor police dismissed claims by comedian Muhammad Nizamuddin Ahmad's wife that the investigation into him was unlawful.

Selangor deputy police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Sasikala Devi Subramaniam said the drug probe, which led to the comedian being charged with drug possession on Friday (Dec 20), was done in full accordance with the law.

She was responding to claims by Nizamuddin's wife who claimed in an Instagram video that she was told to return to the police the day after the initial arrest to change her original statement on the case.

"As such, we stress that this unverified claim can potentially confuse the public. We remind all not to spread content that is not verified," said Comm Sasikala.

Nizamuddin, also known as Along Cham, was charged at the Sessions Court here with having in his possession 58.23g of cannabis.
