MetMalaysia issues thunderstorm warnings for eight states.


PETALING JAYA: Several Malaysian states, including Selangor, Johor and Sabah, are forecast for thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds, according to the Malaysia Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).

The weather warning was issued on Monday, Dec 16 and is effective until 6pm.

Based on the warning, adverse weather conditions are expected in Perak (Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar and Batang Padang), Pahang (Cameron Highlands and Lipis), Selangor (Kuala Langat and Sepang), Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor.

In Sarawak, the regions of Sibu (Selangau), Kapit (Kapit), Bintulu (Tatau), and Miri (Telang Usan) are anticipated to face adverse weather conditions. Similarly, in Sabah, the areas of Pedalaman (Sipitang, Tenom, Beaufort, and Keningau), Pantai Barat (Papar and Tuaran), and Sandakan (Tongod, Telupid, and Sandakan) are also expected to experience unfavourable weather.
