Continuous rain expected in parts of K'tan, T'ganu, Sabah from Nov 8 to 11

KUALA LUMPUR: Continuous rain is expected in several parts of Kelantan and Terengganu from Sunday until Nov 11, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).

MetMalaysia director-general Dr Mohd Hisham Mohd Anip said the affected areas in Kelantan include Tanah Merah, Pasir Mas, Tumpat, Kota Baru, Machang, Bachok and Pasir Puteh.

In Terengganu, continuous rain is expected to affect Besut, Setiu, Kuala Nerus, Kuala Terengganu, Marang and Hulu Terengganu, he said.

Mohd Hisham said continuous rain is also forecast in Sabah from Nov 9 to 11, covering Paitan, Telupid, Labuk and Sugut, Sandakan and Kinabatangan in the Sandakan division.

"Analysis of weather forecast models indicates that a monsoon surge is expected to affect the country from Nov 9 to 11, potentially bringing continuous heavy rain to the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia and eastern Sabah," he said.

The public can obtain the latest weather updates through MetMalaysia's official website, social media channels and the myCuaca mobile application, or contact the department's hotline at 1-300-22-1638 for further enquiries. - Bernama
