Floods: Father, two sons trapped on roof in Pasir Mas rescued

KOTA BHARU: The three family members, who had been stranded on the roof of a house in Kampung Meranti, Pasir Mas, since Friday (Nov 30) evening, have been rescued by villagers.

Fazlinda Mohd Salleh, 38, said that her husband, Rijal Asmawi, 42, and their sons, Muhammad Faiz, 15, and Muhammad Fitri, 12, were rescued by residents and brought to the relief centre at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Bayu Lalang at about 3.50pm on Saturday (Nov 30).

"They were saved by the villagers, using a private boat. Alhamdulillah, I’m just so thankful they’re all safe, even though they were really exhausted.

"I take this as a lesson for our family. I also want to thank those who reached out and shared my post on Facebook," she told Bernama.

Earlier, Bernama reported that a housewife from Kampung Meranti turned to social media, desperately seeking immediate rescue for her husband and two sons, who had been stranded on the roof of a home since Friday evening due to flooding.

Fazlinda said her husband and their two sons became stranded on the roof after returning home yesterday to move their belongings to higher ground. - Bernama
