Over 10,000 sign up for Love Penang Run

GEORGE TOWN: More than 10,000 participants have registered for the Love Penang Run 2024 on Sunday (Nov 24).

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said the number is a testament to the event's growing attraction and the community's strong connection with the state.

In its third edition, the run will cover a scenic 5km route from Lebuh Pantai through Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah, Jalan Larut, Jalan Penang, Jalan Dr Lim Chwee Leong and back to Lebuh Pantai.

"The programme shows a growing sense of love and pride among the people of Penang," Chow told a press conference at Komtar on Tuesday (Nov 19).

He said the run aims to promote a healthy lifestyle and strengthen community bonds to make Penang a better place for all.

The run, which begins at 7am, is organised by the Penang Forward Sports Club alongside the Penang State Sports Council with the support of the state government.

Registration is closed since the targeted number has been reached.

Participants will receive a T-shirt, a medal, an e-certificate and an entry in a lucky draw.
