Trailer menace: Another container lorry accident kills one, seriously injures two


KLUANG: A man was killed and two others injured in a three-vehicle accident involving a container lorry in Kluang.

Renggam Fire and Rescue Operation Commander Abd Rahim Razali reported receiving an emergency call about the incident at KM 69.5 of the North-South Expressway at around 7.43am on Friday (Nov 15).

The motorcyclist, aged 33, was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was handed over to the police for further actions.

Two men, aged 25 and 26, travelling in the car, sustained injuries.

One was trapped in the driver's seat and had to be extricated using special equipment.

The other passenger was taken to the hospital by bystanders at the scene.

The driver of the trailer truck, a 40-year-old man, was not injured.

The cause of the accident remains unclear.

Kluang police have stated that they will issue a press statement on the matter soon.

Photos and videos of the incident have been circulating on social media.

This accident occurred just two days after a similar incident in Bukit Mertajam, Penang, which resulted in the death of a 21-year-old woman and seriously injured a 25-year-old man.
