Kluang man nabbed with over 1kg of suspected heroin


SIMPANG RENGGAM: Police have arrested a 42-year-old local man and seized over 1kg of suspected heroin worth about RM10,128 in a raid here.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said police conducted the raid along Jalan Harmoni here, at about 12.25am on Tuesday (Aug 11).

“During the raid, police arrested the suspect and found three packets containing suspected heroin weighing about 1,055g,” he said here on Tuesday evening.

ACP Bahrin said checks revealed that the suspect had 11 previous criminal and drug offences on his criminal record.

He added that an initial urine screening test also showed that the suspect tested positive for morphine.

“The suspect has been remanded for seven days until Aug 17 to assist with investigations under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he said.
