Selangor's revenue collection hit RM2.429bil as of Nov 13, says MB

SHAH ALAM: The Selangor state revenue enjoyed a total collection of RM2.429bil as of Nov 13 this year.

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said this amounted to 110.43% of the estimated annual state revenue of RM2.2bil for 2024.

Of that amount, tax revenue totalled RM704.95mil, reaching 94.52%, while non-tax revenue recorded RM1,497.86mil, achieving 122.21%.

Non-revenue amounts totalled RM226.55mil, accounting for 99.14%, Amirudin added when tabling the Budget.

"Among the main contributors towards the state's 2024 revenue was land premium amounting to RM1,048.60mil, which is equivalent to 48% of the total revenue estimation," said Amirudin.

He added that the second-largest contributor was quit rent, which amounted to RM592.65mil and constituted 27% of estimated state revenue, followed by the RM209.20mil federal allocation, which made up 10%.

Amirudin also said the Selangor government has successfully paid off its debt to the Federal Government, taken for the Water Supply Project and the Amanah Saham Selangor Scheme, amounting to RM19.2mil and RM1.89mil, respectively.
