KUALA LUMPUR: Police have returned to a house in Taman OUG here, where the body of an elderly woman was kept in a freezer for three years.

Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood said the visit was part of standard procedure in a murder investigation.

He said the inspection was carried out by a team of officers and personnel from the Brickfields criminal investigation division at 4pm on Thursday (Nov 14).

“We urge anyone with information related to the case to come forward to assist in the investigation.

"We also ask the public to refrain from making any speculations to safeguard the dignity of the victim's family," he was quoted as saying on Sinar Harian on Thursday.

The incident came to light on Tuesday after the suspect, believed to be the victim’s son, made an emergency call due to a severe health issue.

Following this, police arrested the 53-year-old man for investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

The public is urged to come forward with any information related to this incident, and can contact the Kuala Lumpur Police Hotline at 03-21159999, the Brickfields Police Hotline at 03-22979222, or the nearest police station.
