Bintulu cops nab murder suspects within hours of crime

SIBU: Swift action by the police led to the arrest of two men in connection with a murder in Bintulu.

Following a shooting incident on the fourth-floor parking area of a hotel there late Thursday (Nov 7) night, a 36-year-old man was found covered in blood.

Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

A video clip also went viral showing the victim being attacked by two men.

Bintulu police launched an immediate investigation and gathered information that led to the arrest of two suspects in Miri just hours later.

It is learnt both suspects are in their 40s and one of them is a foreigner.

Police also confiscated a vehicle believed to have been used in the incident.

Bintulu OCPD Supt Nixon Joshua Ali said on Friday (Nov 8) that police are trying to determine if there are others involved in the crime.

He said there would be no compromise with any individual or group committing criminal acts.

He also advised the public not to speculate on the incident, which is being probed under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

Instead, he said anyone with information on the case should contact the Bintulu police Operations Room at 086-318304.
