500 policemen deployed to ensure security at Super League Match

BATU GAJAH: About 500 policemen will be stationed at Stadium Perak for a Super League match between Perak FC and Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT).

Perak Police Chief Datuk Azizi Mat Aris said full preparations had been made for the game and advised both teams' supporters to avoid conflicts outside the stadium.

"Supporters should behave respectfully and follow the rules set by the police. This is a sporting event," he said after opening the Taman Angkat Amanita 2024 programme at Pusing Convention Hall here on Saturday (Oct 5).

"Such events should not be tainted with incidents of immorality, lack of integrity and irresponsibility by some parties whom I classify as those who are not mature enough," he said.

The match between Perak FC and JDT was previously postponed until Aug 17 due to heavy rain and a waterlogged field.

After the match, eight individuals, including teenagers aged between 16 and 32, were arrested for fighting.

Separately, he said three housing areas, Taman Pusing Baru, Indian Settlement, and Dataran Bemban Jaya, were selected as part of the Taman Angkat Amanita programme.

"We hope that the presence of the Amanita team will make residents feel safer and provide them with someone to contact in case of any criminal activities," he added.
