Flagship agrifood event targets RM8bil in potential investments, four million visitors and RM58mil in direct sales.
SERDANG: The Agriculture and Food Security Ministry (KPKM) announced the upcoming return of the Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Show (MAHA 2026).
The biennial event will take place from Aug 28 to Sept 6 at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS).
With the theme "Value Creation for Food Security," MAHA 2026 signals a strategic evolution in the agrifood sector – moving beyond traditional production towards a technology-driven ecosystem encompassing modern processing, digital innovation, smart farming and high-value international marketing.
Speaking at a media briefing at MAEPS, KPKM secretary-general Datuk Seri Isham Ishak emphasised that MAHA 2026 serves as a pivotal national agenda to build a resilient, sustainable and future-ready food system.
"MAHA 2026 is no longer just an exhibition; it is an economic engine, a platform for innovation, and a catalyst for national food security.
“We aim to ensure that every layer of the agrifood value chain yields higher returns for our farmers, entrepreneurs and the national economy," he said.
Key objectives and targets for MAHA 2026:
> Visitor Footfall: Targeting approximately four million domestic and international visitors over 10 days;
> Exhibitor Participation: Hosting over 2,000 local and international exhibitors;
> Economic Value: Aiming for RM58mil in direct sales and driving RM8bil in potential investments through Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and Memorandums of Agreement (MoAs);
> Youth Engagement: Engaging 800,000 youths to position modern agriculture as an attractive, lucrative and tech-forward career choice.
Expanding horizons through MAHA Go Global
Occupying Hall A, the MAHA Go Global (MGG) initiative returns for its second edition, strengthening the show's international business orientation. MGG will house 14 International Country Pavilions – including exhibitors from the United States, Japan, South Korea, China, Russia, Brazil, the Netherlands, and Palestine – enabling local industry players to explore global agrotechnology solutions directly.
During MAHA Trade Days (Sept 1–3), the Hosted Buyer Programme will match export-ready local agrifood producers with 40 international wholesalers, distributors, and retailers. Local capacity is further championed through the Go Global, Grow Local (GGGL) cluster, featuring 34 selected entrepreneurs supported by an Export One-Stop Centre for international compliance and certification, alongside the Taste of Malaysia (TOM) pavilion showcasing 25 successful local brands exported to over 27 countries.
A national celebration with comprehensive attractions
Underlining agriculture's national strategic importance, KPKM will participate in the National Day Parade 2026 with a 100-member contingent, a thematic float showcasing cutting-edge machinery and a special Merdeka Eve celebration hosted at MAEPS.
For the general public, MAHA 2026 offers a diverse array of interactive displays, including Immersive Agrotech (Hall C), Agrotourism (Hall D), the Kingdom of Agrofood, State Pavilions, Kiddies Wonderland, a Floating Market, specialised agricultural plots, and nightly light, laser, and drone shows.
Visitor facilitation and strategic support
Admission to MAHA 2026 is free. To ensure maximum convenience, over 6,300 parking spaces are available on-site, backed by alternative parking at Mardi and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), with free shuttle bus services provided from the UPM MRT, Serdang KTM and Putrajaya Central stations.
MAHA 2026 is supported by 11 official strategic partners, led by main sponsor Bank Pertanian Malaysia Bhd (Agrobank), alongside Padiberas Nasional Berhad (Bernas), Pertubuhan Peladang Kebangsaan (Nafas), Persatuan Nelayan Kebangsaan (Nekmat), Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia, Denso Malaysia, Ehh Food Industry, Asas Synergy Enterprise (Tupperware), ARC Berkat Agro Food, Aafiyat Holdings, and Syarikat Hang Tuah.
