Glamping event in Putrajaya to usher in National Day

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians are invited to usher in National Day by camping out at the Mini Stadium in Taman Pancarona, Precinct 18, Putrajaya on Aug 30 and 31 under the Glamping Jiwa Merdeka 2024 event.

Putrajaya Leisures and Services Group Sdn Bhd (PULSE Group) group asset management head Wan Mohd Azhar Wan Mohd Shuky said the mini stadium could accommodate over 360 tents and 80 caravans.

"Themed Malaysia Madani Jiwa Merdeka, the concept of the event involves camping with family on the eve of the National Day (Aug 30) before attending the parade at Dataran Putrajaya on the morning of Aug 31, which is within walking distance (about 1 km).

"They are encouraged to bring their tents, preferably sized 3.5 m by 3.5 m...to ensure comfort,” he said when appearing as a guest on Bernama Radio on Tuesday (Aug 20).

He said the glamping packages start from RM20 to RM55, adding that amenities such as parking spaces, toilets, surau, and food stalls will be provided for the campers’ convenience.

Wan Mohd Azhar said that activities to ignite the atmosphere are scheduled to start from 4.30pm on Aug 30, such as a colouring contest, patriotic performances, national-themed movie screenings, a tent decoration contest, and a countdown to Aug 31.

Registration and further information can be obtained at www.merdeka360.my or the social media accounts of Putrajaya Corporation and the Information Department. - Bernama
