Johor BSI Immigration presents cake to counterparts across Causeway for S'pore's National Day

JOHOR BARU: The Immigration Department presented a special cake to its counterparts across the Causeway in conjunction with Singapore's 59th National Day.

Bangunan Sultan Iskandar (BSI) Customs, Immigration and Quarantine Complex deputy Immigration head R. Vimala handed over the cake to representatives from Singapore’s Immigration and Checkpoints Authority on Friday (Aug 9) as a show of goodwill.

The previous day, Vimala had also presented a gift in the form of "pulut kuning" or yellow sticky rice to the Consulate-General of Singapore in Johor Baru.

Traditionally, pulut kuning is served during ceremonial events or special occasions due to its bright yellow colour.

Photos of the gift presentation were also shared on the BSI corporate communications unit Facebook page.
