SELANGOR: Selangor’s preparation for the Malaysian Games (Sukma) is in its final stages.
Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneurship Development Committee Chairman Mohd Najwan Halimi said that a total of 1,182 state athletes and officials will be sent to the games.
"We have finalised everything for SUKMA, and we are in the final stages of preparing our athletes.
"The athletes are in the final phase of receiving contributions from state agencies, which means financial assistance to help with their preparations.
"The officials will be in Sarawak as early as Aug 6 to handle logistical preparations and more," he said during Selangor’s 1000 Digital Programme in Sepang.
He added that the state will ensure conditions, safety, and preparations are optimal at the venue.
The 2024 Sukma games will be held in Sarawak from Aug 17 to Aug 24.
