Body of man found in lake near private university in Subang


PETALING JAYA: A body of a man has been found in a lake at a private university in Subang Jaya.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis said they received a report at 4.48pm on Tuesday (May 26).

Witnesses told firemen that the man was seen falling into the lake.

"The man's identity has yet to be ascertained," he said.

In a statement on Tuesday, Taylor's University said the individual involved is not affiliated to university.

"An incident involving a member of the public took place at the lake within the vicinity of the Lakeside Campus. It has since been confirmed that the individual involved is neither a Taylor's student nor staff member.

"As this is an ongoing investigation, we will defer further comments to the relevant authorities.

"The institution is extending support to affected members of the campus community and advises the public against circulating unverified information, photos, or videos related to the incident," read the statement.
