Policeman to be charged with Farah Kartini's murder tomorrow


KUALA LUMPUR: The policeman detained in connection with the murder of Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah will be charged on Friday (July 26).

Selangor police Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the suspect will be charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code with murder.

"Yes, he will be charged (in court) tomorrow," he said when contacted on Thursday (July 25).

It is learnt that the suspect will be charged at the Kuala Kubu Bharu court on Friday.

It was reported that investigators have searched for evidence in various locations, including at Kampung Sri Keledang in Hulu Selangor, Sungai Trolak in Kampung Batu, Perak and at a tapioca farm in Slim River.

Various items belonging to Nur Farah Kartini have been recovered, including her mobile phone and a handbag as well as the suspect's SIM card.

Police also believed the location in Kampung Sri Keledang is the prime crime scene and that the act was committed by one perpetrator.

It was reported that the victim's body was found at a palm oil plantation in Kampung Sri Keledang, Hulu Selangor on July 15.

Nur Farah Kartini was reported missing in Tanjung Malim, Perak, on July 11.

She was reported missing after sending a rental car to a customer at Taman Universiti, Tanjung Malim.

A policeman, believed to be her boyfriend, has since been detained and remanded for seven days.

The case is classified under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
