Trio arrives in court to be remanded


JOHOR BARU: The three suspects arrested to help in the case of missing six-year-old Albertine Leo Jia Hui have been brought to the Court Complex here for remand.

The suspects, two men and a woman, arrived at around 8.45am on Tuesday (July 23) under heavy police escort.

They were brought to court in orange and purple police lockup attire for the remand process under Section 365 of the Penal Code for kidnapping.

Magistrate Suhaili Sapun granted a four-day remand order on all the suspects from today until July 26.

Police arrested the suspects, aged between 28 and 55, in Iskandar Puteri and Gelang Patah areas at around 1.30pm on Monday (July 22) in connection with the investigation of the girl's disappearance.

Meanwhile, Johor police chief Comm M. Kumar has called for a press conference later in the day at state police headquarters to provide an update on the missing child.

Albertine was reported missing at around 8.30pm on Saturday (July 21) during the Bon Odori Japanese festival celebration at Eco Galleria here.

The girl, about 120cm tall and with long hair, was last seen wearing a white Mickey Mouse T-shirt.
