Cops scouring river where Nur Farah's handbag was found


HULU SELANGOR: The police are scouring Sungai Trolak for evidence in the Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah murder case in Kampung Batu, Perak.

Hulu Selangor OCPD Supt Ahmad Faizal Tahrim said the search for the victim's belongings is being conducted by its forensic unit and Hulu Selangor Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

"We are still searching Sungai Trolak. The investigation is still ongoing and the cause of death has not been ascertained," he said when contacted on Friday (July 19).

Supt Ahmad Faizal said the search at the primary crime scene at the palm oil plantation in Kampung Sri Keledang has concluded.

"Further action will depend on the findings of the forensic unit," he said.

On Thursday (July 18), police recovered a handbag believed to be Nur Farah Kartini's while a mobile phone was discovered at the palm oil plantation in Kampung Sri Keledang the day before.

It was reported that the victim's body was found at a palm oil plantation in Kampung Sri Keledang on Monday (July 15).

Nur Farah Kartini was reported missing in Tanjung Malim, Perak, on July 11 after sending a rental car to a customer at Taman Universiti, Tanjung Malim.

A policeman, believed to be her boyfriend, has since been detained and remanded for seven days.

The case has classified under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
