Nur Farah Kartini's body to be claimed after mother gives DNA sample


SUNGAI BULOH: The body of murder victim Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah has not been claimed by her family.

As of noon Wednesday (July 17), media practitioners gathered at Sungai Buloh Hospital's forensic unit were made to understand that the victim's body will be claimed by her family members once her mother has finished giving her DNA sample at Kuala Kubu Baru Hospital.

The matter was confirmed by the victim's older brother Mohd Farriza Amir Abdullah, 28, via WhatsApp to the media.

He said the family wanted to settle the his mother's DNA sample at Kuala Kubu Baru before claiming the victim's body.

"I'm not sure when we could come and take her body home.

"We need to settle the DNA sample first," he said.

He said the Nur Farah Kartini's body will be buried in Pekan, Pahang.

"I will share more (details) once I arrive at Sungai Buloh Hospital," he said.

As of 12.30pm, no family members had arrived at the Forensic Unit.

The post-mortem was completed at about 5.30pm on Tuesday (July 16).

It was reported that Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the victim's body was found at a palm oil plantation in Kampung Sri Kledang, Hulu Selangor.

Nur Farah Kartini was reported missing in Tanjung Malim, Perak, on July 11.

She was reported missing after sending a rental car to a customer at Taman Universiti, Tanjung Malim.

A policeman, believed to be her boyfriend, has since been detained and remanded for seven days.

The case is classified under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
