Actor’s ex-wife withdraws assault allegations

ACTOR Hafidz Roshdi’s (pic) former wife, Nurul Shuhada Mat Shukri, has agreed to withdraw the case she filed against him for allegedly assaulting her last year, Kosmo! reported.

At the Kuala Kubu Baru Magistrate’s Court, both parties, through their lawyers, agreed to settle the case amicably.

Hafidz (pic), 30, said he was relieved over the decision.

The actor, who was represented by lawyer Datuk Akberdin Abdul Kader, said they received the report of Nurul Shuhada’s case withdrawal on July 6.

“The report has been received and will be evaluated by the state prosecution director.

“The investigating officer will also conduct an investigation to ensure there was no provocation and that Nurul Shuhada has chosen to resolve the case amicably,” he said.

The court was also informed that Nurul Shuhada did not attend yesterday’s hearing as she was unwell, but she was represented by deputy public prosecutor Asmah Che Wan.

The court set the next case mention date on Aug 2.

On March 2 last year, Nurul Shuhada lodged a police report claiming that Hafidz had punched her several times, causing injury to her cheek.

Previously, Hafidz was ordered to undergo psychiatric evaluation at Hospital Bahagia after the prosecution’s application under Section 342 of the Criminal Procedure Code was granted on March 29 last year.

Hafidz divorced Nurul Shuhada on July 27, 2023. The couple have two children aged seven and four.

> Singer Hazama Azmi and his wife Genervie Kam have been happily married for seven years though they have no children, Harian Metro reported.

Hazama, 40, said they decided to focus on producing his second album, Pujangga.

“We have yet to be blessed with a child. The money that could have gone for fertility treatments, I channel it to my work.

“My responsibility is not done as there is a lot to do in the music industry, so I want to settle it one by one,” he said.

He said he is also treating his current album as his “first child” and hopes it will help him make a mark in the music industry.

Hazama said he and Kam have also decided against adopting as he already has nephews and nieces.
