TAIWANESE singer Selina Jen made a tearful confession that she was once vehemently against dating younger men but was glad that she gave her current partner Xiao Xu a chance, reported China Press.

The 42-year-old, who was speaking on Chinese variety show “Yes, I Do”, recounted how she met Xu, who is seven years her junior, back in 2022.

According to Jen, Xu had confessed his love to her the first time they met, which she claimed to have broken down all the walls she raised following her divorce in 2016.

“I really tried to be brave for myself, and I want to thank the person who I was back then (who gave him a chance),” said a teary-eyed Jen.

Many fans expressed joy that Jen had found happiness after a long time.

“Hope Selina continues to be happy as she has gone through so much,” one fan wrote.

It was reported that Jen gave birth to a baby boy with Xu in late 2023.

She once said that she was grateful that Xu was a reliable partner throughout her pregnancy.

Jen, who is part of all-girl group S.H.E, was previously married to lawyer Richard Chang for five years, but they divorced in 2016.The divorce was a huge blow to her and she initially vowed never to get married again before retracting her words in 2022.

In 2010, she suffered third-degree burns on more than half of her body while filming Chinese television serial I Have A Date With Spring in Shanghai.

> After it was destroyed by vandals last month, the tombstone belonging to rock band Beyond’s beloved frontman Wong Ka Kui was restored, adorning a more sombre photo of the late singer, reported China Press.

Just days before Wong’s birthday on June 10, fans shared videos of themselves paying respects to the deceased musician at the Junk Bay Chinese Permanent Cemetery in Hong Kong and reported that a new tombstone had been installed.

Many pointed out that they missed the earlier colour photo of Wong affixed onto the tombstone.

Instead, it has now been replaced with a black-and-white portrait of the singer.

“I still think the colour photo is better as his life was filled with joy and excitement,” one fan wrote. It was reported that police arrested two vandals – aged 15 and 23 – on May 19 for defacing Wong’s grave with graffiti and pouring liquid over the singer’s memorial plaque.

A viral video also showed one of the vandals smashing the tombstone with a hammer and using foul language to insult Wong.

Wong, the band’s vocalist and guitarist, fell to his death during a performance in Japan in 1993. He was 31.

Following his death, Beyond continued as a trio before disbanding in 2005.
