PM’s pol-sec Datuk Azman Abidin is now FT PKR chief, while Rafizi and Nik Nazmi removed

PETALING JAYA: PKR has reshuffled its state leadership in seven states, which saw Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's political secretary Datuk Azman Abidin being tapped as Federal Territories PKR chief.

The deputy chairman post would now be headed by Kepong division chief Jayakumar Muniandy.

Party deputy president Rafizi Ramli however was removed from his positions in Federal Territories and Johor as well as party vice-president Nik Nazmi Ahmad being relieved of his duties in Kelantan and Terengganu.

PKR information chief and Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said in a statement that the decision was made by its central leadership council (MPP) following a meeting on Sunday (May 26).

According to the statement, the reshuffling affected the chairman and deputy chairman posts of its Sarawak, Sabah, Pahang, Johor, Terengganu, Kelantan, and Federal Territory branches.

Notably, Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh, who is Ledang MP, is the new Johor PKR chairman, with Bakri division chief Md Ysahrudin Kusni as deputy chairman.

Sabah PKR chairman is now Kota Belud PKR division chief and Sepanggar MP Datuk Mustapha Sakmud, with the deputy chairman post going to Sepanggar division chief and Inanam assemblyman Peto Galim.

"The MPP would also like to announce the appointment of Datuk Sangkar Rasam, Azan Ismail, and Datuk Dr Roslan Hussin to the MPP," he said.

The meeting, he added, also saw the party president explaining current issues to the MPP, including government policies.

"The MPP also discussed the level of preparations for the party in the upcoming Sungai Bakap state seat by-election which will be held soon," he said.
