A VIDEO has gone viral on social media showing a group of individuals cooking instant noodles at a gas station in Genting Highlands.

The video caption states that the incident occurred recently, causing quite a stir online and leading to police involvement.

Is it true that 15 people were arrested for cooking noodles at a gas station in Genting Highlands?

In a statement to the press, Pahang Police Chief Datuk Yahaya Othman confirmed the incident.

"The arrests involved 10 men and five women, who appeared at the Bentong District Police Headquarters and were released on police bail after recording their statements," he said, when asked by Sinar Harian, adding that all of them were aged between 23 and 28 years old.

Datuk Yahaya added that investigation papers were being completed, and four witnesses from the time of the incident had also recorded their statements to assist with the investigation.

"We will refer the investigation papers to the Deputy Public Prosecutor for further instructions," he said.

Previously, it was reported that an investigation had been initiated following a viral video showing a group of people cooking instant noodles at a gas station in Genting Highlands.

Bentong District Police Chief Superintendent Zaiham Mohd Kahar stated that they received a report at 12.35pm on May 14 regarding a video clip showing a group of individuals committing the act, which went viral on social media.

"The investigation found that the video clip was uploaded on May 13 before it went viral on X's social media site,” he said.
