Two killed in crash in Kota Belud


KOTA KINABALU: A man and a woman died in a crash involving two cars on the Bukit Kelawat stretch in Kota Belud on Sunday (April 14).

The bodies of the two victims, identified as Alkhayshar and Siti Emma Ernanie, both 28, were extracted from the wreck by the Fire and Rescue Department that responded to a distress call at 7.42pm.

Firemen arrived at the scene, some 16km away from the station, at 8.06pm.

“They were confirmed dead at the scene by health department officers, and their bodies were handed over to the police for further action,” said the department in a statement.

Meanwhile, the driver and passenger of the other vehicle escaped unhurt.
