Construction worker arrested for threatening wife for drug money

AMPANG JAYA: A construction worker has been arrested for threatening his wife for not giving him money to buy drugs.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail said the case allegedly occurred at around 1am on Sunday (April 7).

"The complainant alleged that her husband had returned home and was shouting and banging on the front door demanding to be let in.

"The complainant did not comply because she was afraid for her family's safety because her husband was angry for not getting cash to buy drugs from her," he said in a statement on Tuesday (April 9).

He said the complainant called police to come and help her and it was then that one of her children told her that they had seen an object resembling a gun hidden under one of the tables.

"We managed to arrest the suspect and seize an air pistol.

"The case is being investigated for criminal intimidation and possession of imitation weapons," he said, adding that the suspect has been remanded for seven days to assist further investigations.

ACP Mohd Azam urged the public to refrain from breaking the law or face stern action.
