Four employers detained for allegedly falsifying documents

KUALA LUMPUR: Four company owners have been detained for allegedly falsifying documents in their Recalibration Programme 2.0 (RTK 2.0) applications.

Kuala Lumpur Immigration Department director Wan Mohammed Saupee Wan Yusoff said the suspects, a woman and three men, were detained on Friday (March 15) following raids at various premises.

"We believe they falsified the documents in order to get the quota for hundreds of foreign workers under RTK 2.0," he said in a statement on Saturday (March 16).

The case is being investigated under Section 56(1)(k) of the Immigration Act 1963, he added.

In another operation, Wan Mohammed Saupee said 15 undocumented Indonesians were detained at a sports school in Bukit Jalil on March 15.

"The suspects, aged between 25 and 45, were working as cleaners at the school illegally.

"We also issued two notices to representatives of the school to record their statements," he said.

He also reminded all employers to be responsible in making any applications to the department and ensure that all documents were legitimate.

"We will not compromise in taking action against anyone who does not adhere to rules and regulations," he said.
