Parliamentary Special Select Committee focused on solving country’s flooding issues, says Dr Wee

Dr Wee Ka Siong

PETALING JAYA: Addressing the country’s flooding problems was at the centre of the 15th Parliamentary Infrastructure, Transport and Communications Special Select Committee meeting, says Dr Wee Ka Siong.

“The issue of flooding that frequently hits major cities in our country not only poses a risk to public safety but also affects the country's economy,” wrote the MCA president in a Facebook post on Thursday (March 7).

“Hopefully, the government will consider the constructive views of the members of this meeting when introducing policies that can help solve this flood-related problem,” he added.

Dr Wee, also the Ayer Hitam MP, said representatives from the Housing and Local Government Ministry and the Irrigation and Drainage Department attended the afternoon meeting on Thursday.
