No foul play in death of senior citizen found on roof in Taman Cahaya


AMPANG: There was no foul play in the death of a senior citizen who was found on the roof of a Taman Cahaya shophouse, says Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail

He said the body was sent to a nearby hospital for post-mortem after it was discovered on Friday (Feb 16).

"The post-mortem was conducted on Saturday (Feb 17), and the cause of death is due to congested blood vessels or a myocardial infarction (heart attack) due to coronary atheroma (heart disease)," he said when contacted.

It was previously reported that the body of a senior citizen was discovered on the roof of a shophouse at Taman Pandan Cahaya.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the body was discovered at about 7.04pm on Friday (Feb 16).

"When firemen arrived on the scene, they discovered that the victim, identified as 71-year-old B. Vadivalu, was unconscious on the roof.

"Medical officers then confirmed that the victim was dead," he said.The victim was then lowered to the ground floor before being handed over to the police.
