Rafizi to sue Ramanan over graft allegations

PETALING JAYA: Legal action is being initiated against Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan over corruption allegations against former economy minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli.

In a statement on Friday (Oct 23), Rafizi said he had instructed his lawyers to begin legal proceedings after reviewing Ramanan's press conference on Thursday (Oct 22).

He said his lawyers believed there were strong grounds for a defamation lawsuit over allegations made by Ramanan, including claims of his involvement in corruption.

He also urged MPs to consider referring Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s statement on the matter to Parliament's Rights and Privileges Committee.
