B40 folk get help with Padu registration

MORE than 260 Indian residents from the B40 community were given assistance to sign up for a workshop on the Central Database Hub (Padu) system in Juru, Makkal Osai reported.

The workshop, which was organised by Alam Aliran Kualiti (M) Sdn Bhd, based in Juru, Penang, was held at SJK(T) Ladang Juru.

State exco member for housing and environment Datuk Seri Sundarajoo Somu, who launched the event, commended the company for its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts.

The company’s CSR coordinator Pavithran Balan said many of the people included the elderly, who didn’t have access to computers.

Businessman Datuk Mariadass Gopal and school headmaster S. Raja Rajan were present at the event along with company employees and volunteers to help with the registration process.
