KUCHING: All those involved in the decision to award the contract for supplying and maintaining government vehicles to Spanco Sdn Bhd will be called up by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to assist in its investigation.MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki said this includes the former prime minister and finance minister at the time, if necessary.
“The history of the company being given the contract is one of the concerns in our investigation. Whoever was involved at that time will be called, if there is a necessity,” he told reporters after a media dialogue here yesterday.Spanco had held the concession to supply and maintain government vehicles since 1993. An open tender was launched in 2019 when the contract ended, with a letter of intent (LOI) awarded to a consortium formed by Berjaya Group and Naza Sdn Bhd.
