PSD: Interim report on public service salary review submitted to Anwar


PUTRAJAYA: The Interim Report 1 on the Review of the Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA) was submitted to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Friday (Jan 19), said the Public Service Department (PSD).

In a Facebook post on Saturday (Jan 20), the PSD stated that the report was submitted to the Prime Minister by the Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali and PSD director-general Datuk Seri Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz after the SSPA Review main committee meeting, which was chaired by the Prime Minister.

Regarding the meeting, the PSD said the focus was on various initiatives that can contribute towards increasing the disposable income of civil servants.

The Prime Minister when tabling the 2024 Budget in Parliament on Oct 13 last year was reported to have announced that the full implementation of the SSPA would begin in 2025.

Accordingly, he said, a study on SSPA will be carried out comprehensively, focusing on increasing the productivity and efficiency of public services.

The SSPA study, which also focuses on aspects of salary increases and allowances in the public sector, is expected to take almost two years and is a reform initiative in the public service in line with the aspirations of Developing Malaysia Madani. - Bernama
