Cops will record statements of all parties in teen's Cheras hostel bullying claim


KUALA LUMPUR: The police will record the statements of every party, including the parents, friends and the school administrators in connection with the teenager who ran away from a hostel in Cheras, claiming he was bullied repeatedly.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid said the police had received the report from the teenager's family, which was lodged on Tuesday (Dec 19).

"We will call up everyone to record their statements.

"We are classifying the case under Section 31 of the Child Act 2001 and the case will be investigated by D11," he told reporters after KL police monthly assume on Wednesday (Dec 20).

The missing teen was found in a weakened state at a mosque in Bandar Tun Razak on Dec 8 after he went missing for several hours.

The 14-year-old boy was still being treated at a nearby hospital admitted on Dec 9.

Following the incident, the victim's mother lodged a police report on Tuesday over her son's bullying claims.
