Papagomo being investigated by cops again, this time over allegedly defamatory video

PETALING JAYA: Blogger Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, also known as Papagomo, is being investigated by the police again, this time for a video that is believed to be defamatory.

Bukit Aman CID deputy director Deputy Comm Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said that an investigation paper was opened after a video was uploaded to YouTube on Dec 16.

He said the video, lasting over one-and-a-half-hours, was uploaded on the 'SIR AZRI' YouTube channel," he said in a statement on Monday (Dec 18),.

However, checks revealed the video is no longer available.

DCP Rusdi said the case was also being investigated under Section 504 of the Penal Code for intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of the peace, Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act for using network facilities to transmit communication deemed to be offensive or could cause annoyance to another person and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act for insulting behaviour.

"The case is still under investigation and the public is advised not to make any speculation that would disrupt the investigation," he said.
