Traffic cops clear traffic after unclogging drains in JB

JOHOR BARU: Five traffic policemen sprang into action to unclog drains as murky waters overflowed into a main road near Taman Ungku Tun Aminah here following a bout of heavy rain.

Johor Baru North OCPD Asst Comm Balveer Singh said the downpour caused the left lane of KM15 Jalan Johor Baru-Air Hitam to become flooded at around 6.30pm on Tuesday (Dec 5).

“This slowed down the peak period traffic flow immensely.

“Realising this, five traffic officials from the Johor Baru North police headquarters took the initiative to look for the cause of the flash flood.

“They unclogged the drains to let the waters flow into the ditch smoothly,” he said.

He added that the traffic flow became smooth after the murky waters drained away.
